You will depart from Fort William on this wonderful tour, focused on finding some of Scotland’s best-loved species. Travelling south from Fort William you will first stop off to visit the red squirrels at the forestry hide near Corran. You will then cross the Corran ferry to Ardgour on the Ardnamurchan peninsula.
Your next stop will be to look for the seals which are often hauled out on the rocks on Loch Linnhe as we drive by. Then you will take the road less travelled along to Kingairloch. Here you will be looking for deer on the hills and otters on the seashore. Let’s not forget the feral goats that feed on the seaweed.
On the Highland Safari Experience Tour, you can expect to see many different species of birds which will vary depending on the time of year. We regularly come across divers, mergansers and eider ducks and white-tailed eagles and even golden eagles put in an appearance from time to time. It’s not uncommon to see porpoise along the seafront. Occasionally we get to see dolphins perform a swim past. And everyone comments on the deafening silence.
The Highland Safari Experience Tour return journey will give you spectacular views of Ben Nevis. And of course another opportunity to look for the seals.
