A look into the dark side of Edinburgh’s Old Town!

The Early Afternoon Ghost Tours are walking tours led by a professional local guide in full period costume. You will walk around some of Edinburgh’s most historically fascinating Old Town Closes, where guides will overdose you with historical facts and stories of Edinburgh’s dark past, with the odd bad joke thrown in from time to time.

The Old Town & Underground Ghost Tour will then take you into Edinburgh’s underground vaults, located underneath the historic South Bridge, just off Edinburgh’s famous Royal Mile.

These vaults are known to be some of the most haunted in the world and many a ghost has been spotted lurking around both by visitors and guides alike.

Ghosts, torture, death and horror! Is there any better way to start your evening?

FAQs

With the exception of the Alternative Tour and the Ultimate Old Town Historical Tour, there is only a small amount of walking on our tours. However please wear comfortable shoes otherwise you will find the Old Town’s cobblestones rather unpleasant!

Children over five years old are welcome on all our tours, except for the Pub Crawl, the Extreme Paranormal Tour and the Ladies of Pleasure Tour, provided they are accompanied by an adult.

Unfortunately our underground is only accessible via a flight of stairs. For more information about the underground visit our accessibility section.

Our tours run in rain, hail, sleet or snow, so long as we have people booked on, willing to do the tour it will run. Please wrap warm though if the weather is not on our side.
