Overview

Enjoy a unique mix of Scotland on the Lochs, Castles and The Kelpies Tour. Take in the stunning beauty of Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park. Also discover the turbulent history of Stirling Castle. Finally see the magnificent 30-metre high-horse-head sculptures – The Kelpies.

Embark on your adventure at 8.45am from Edinburgh and head west through Scotland’s Central Belt. Head towards the ‘Bonnie Banks of Loch Lomond’.  Balmaha village is located on the eastern shores of the biggest loch on the British Isles. Afterward, admire the breathtaking, solitary peak of Scotland’s most southerly Munro (a Scottish mountain), Ben Lomond. Enjoy the fresh air during a woodland walk with views overlooking Loch Lomond.

In the afternoon, this tour takes you to one of the largest and most significant castles in Scotland. Namely Stirling Castle. Both architecturally and historically impressively, sitting atop Castle Hill. A vast volcanic rock. In 1542 Mary Queen of Scots was crowned here. Discover which other Scottish Kings and Queens were too. Other great figures associated with the castle are William Wallace and Robert the Bruce. Follow in the footsteps of famous historic characters.

Lastly, on the return journey, you will have the chance to see the world’s largest equine sculptures – the Kelpies. The Kelpies are now one of the most iconic images of modern-day Scotland.  300 tonnes of structural steel make each 30-metre high horse head sculpture. After a day of soaking up history and stunning sceneries, you will return to Edinburgh in the early evening. After your big day you can relax in one of the many cosy pubs. The Lochs, Castles and The Kelpies tour is a perfect day out exploring a variety of Scotland’s attractions.
