Overview

One of the most popular 1-day tours from Glasgow is The Highlands tour to Loch Ness and Glencoe, taking in some of the most dramatic scenery of the Scottish Highlands. The Loch Ness tour takes you to Glencoe and offers options for a cruise across Loch Ness.

From Glasgow, the Loch Ness, Glencoe & Highlands tour travels north, before making a refreshment stop on the shores of Loch Lomond. Travelling the length of the loch, the journey continues to climb up into the Highlands. Travel over the unique, dramatic landscape of Rannoch Moor and the Black Mount to majestic Glencoe. This is one of Scotland’s most haunting glens, as it is the site of the 1692 massacre of the MacDonald clan.

Continuing via Loch Linnhe, the tour makes a stop in the Fort William area for lunch. Then, the journey continues into the natural beauty of the Great Glen as you pass beneath Britain’s highest mountain, Ben Nevis. Travelling on, you will arrive in the pretty village of Fort Augustus, where you can admire the Caledonian Canal and enjoy spectacular views of Loch Ness. Here, you have the chance to cruise Loch Ness or spend time at its shore.

Loch Ness is 24 miles long and 700 feet deep and is most famous for its sightings of the Loch Ness Monster, affectionately known as Nessie.

From Fort Augustus, your Loch Ness tour will start its return for home crossing the Grampian Mountains and the woodland scenery of Perthshire, including the Forest of Atholl. There will be an en evening refreshment stop at the Victorian resort town of Pitlochry, en route back to Glasgow, where your Loch Ness tour ends.
