Overview

This Old Town History and Tales tour is the perfect way to start your trip offering you the complete Edinburgh experience!

Start your tour at the Cafe Nero on the Royal Mile, 192 High Street, beside the Adam Smith statue. You will easily spot your guide holding a big, green, and white umbrella.

Covering everything from history to religion & folklore, this walking tour is an original tour of Edinburgh’s medieval Old Town. Talented and entertaining guides will walk you through the cobbled streets and alleys of Auld Reekie while enthralling you with its history, folklore, and tales!

Each of the passionate guides brings their own unique style and interests to their tours. They will bring you their story of Edinburgh, the place they call home. This means each tour will cover slightly different topics. The tour will include places locals love and well-known sights such as the St. Giles Cathedral,  the Mercat Cross, Greyfriars Bobby, the Grassmarket, Harry Potter’s inspiration, Edinburgh Castle (from the outside), and much more.

Join this entertaining tour and explore areas that are not usually accessed by car. Your tour ends at the starting point, in the heart of Old Town surrounded by cafes and restaurants.

As the Old Town of Edinburgh can be quite hilly, be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes.
