Join the Edinburgh Castle Guided Tour and visit one of the oldest fortresses in Europe! Edinburgh Castle is built in 1103 AD and has remained in use as a historical fortress and palace since. Edinburgh Castle is an iconic landmark, overlooking the capital of Scotland from the top of an extinct volcano. Your tour begins on the Royal Mile, in the heart of Old Town, and takes you up to the Castle Esplanade. Where is the meeting point?
The meeting point is 351 High Street (Royal Mile), opposite St. Giles' Cathedral.
You will recognize your guide holding a black umbrella.
Will tours go ahead if it rains or snows?
Yes! Unless it is a tropical storm or a snowfall so great that it is dangerous to go outside, the walks will always take place. The route is adapted to minimize contact with rain or snow, but the tour is done the same.
At what time are the tours?
English and Spanish speaking tours take place at 10am and 1.30pm. And from 1 April - 30 September also at 12.15pm.

German speaking tours take place on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 1.30pm.
